Terms of Service
Effective date: March 8, 2026

1. Service Description
CronAlert ("the Service") is an uptime monitoring platform. We periodically send HTTP requests to URLs you configure ("monitors") and notify you through your chosen alert channels when a non-successful response is received or the request times out.
The Service is provided by CronAlert ("we", "us", "our"). By using CronAlert, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Account Terms
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
- Each account is intended for use by a single person. You may not share login credentials with others. Team plans allow multiple members under a single organization.
- You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Perform denial-of-service attacks, load testing, or any form of abuse against monitored URLs or third-party services.
- Monitor URLs that you do not own or have authorization to monitor.
- Engage in any illegal activity or violate any applicable laws.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, data, or systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Resell or redistribute the Service without our prior written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used in a harmful manner.
4. Payment Terms
- CronAlert offers both free and paid subscription plans. Plan features and limits are described on our pricing page.
- Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscriptions will be honored at their current rate until the next renewal after the notice period.
- If payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again. After repeated failures, your account may be downgraded to the free plan.
5. Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable, continuous service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service runs on Cloudflare's global edge network, which provides high availability, but outages, maintenance windows, and unforeseen issues may occur.
We are not liable for any damages resulting from Service downtime, delayed checks, or missed alerts. CronAlert is a monitoring tool — it does not guarantee the availability of the URLs you monitor.
6. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using CronAlert, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
You retain ownership of the data you provide to the Service, including the URLs you monitor and the alert configurations you create. We do not sell your data to third parties.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, documentation, and branding, is owned by CronAlert and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
You may use the CronAlert name and logo solely to identify your use of the Service (for example, on a status page). You may not use our branding in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation beyond your use of the Service.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CronAlert and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
9. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or fail to pay for a subscription.
- We may also terminate accounts that have been inactive for an extended period, with prior notice.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We are not obligated to retain your data after termination, though we will make reasonable efforts to allow you to export your data before deletion.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.
